Description: This position will be responsible for the coordination of the Safety Team who will partner with Leadership, Manufacturing Supervisors, Team Leaders, and Operators, ensuring records are maintained and kept up to date for multiple systems. Ensures required safety policy compliance, documentation, machine guarding, testing, sampling, process improvements and overall engagement of all partners in progress is maintained and enhanced related to safe and responsible business practices. Will support safety activities at various Behlen locations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure compliance with federal OSHA, state DOL, DHHS, EPA, and company safety policies and employee required training processes.
- Implement and maintain company wide OSHA reporting and record keeping requirements.
- Inspect and verify company compliance with relevant safety regulations.
- Conduct jobsite assessments focusing on unsafe conditions and/or unsafe behaviors, and ensure appropriate action is taken to correct deficiencies with supporting documentation.
- Evaluate ergonomic conditions of workstations and provide recommendations.
- Coordination of safety committee and its functions, to include scheduling and reporting of activities and progress.
- Update EHS policies, procedures and training needs as required
- Maintain documentation for asbestos management program
- Oversight of all Federal and State environmental regulations.
- Ventilation Discharge Opacity Checks
- Oversight of Waste Water Treatment Plant Operation
- Provide Training to WWT Plant and Beta Operators
- Hazardous Spill Team Coordination
- Handling, Labeling, and documenting of non-hazardous waste, and coordinate shipments of hazardous waste
- Coordinate waste shipments, waste stream analysis, and waste profile updates and new profile development
- National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP) Compliance Monitoring
- Direct and assist branch locations with implementation of company safety policies, safety issues and concerns as necessary.
- Assist with investigation and follow-up of corrective actions regarding machine repair, crane and jib inspections, and injury and incident investigations.
- Analyze incident reports, metrics, and injury case studies in order to institute changes that lead to a safer environment.
- Ability to work continuous improvement of product quality and ISO-9001:2015.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in areas of Safety Management or Engineering preferred.
- 5 years of Safety Experience
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred.
- Proven ability to work with and build teams
- Strong computer, written, verbal, and communication skills
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes
- Flexible work schedule when required
