We are seeking a self-motivated, skilled and detail-oriented Engineer to join our Operational Excellence (OpEx) team and lead the AIM Program (Awareness Is Money). Responsibilities
We are seeking a self-motivated, skilled and detail-oriented Engineer to join our Operational Excellence (OpEx) team and lead the AIM Program (Awareness Is Money). This role is responsible for driving continuous improvements in safety, quality, and efficiency within our metal fabrication operations. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with the ability to collaborate across functions, develop process enhancements, implement new technologies, and optimize manufacturing workflows to drive operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Practice safe working habits and follow safety procedures, policies, and job safety analysis (JSA).
- Focus efforts to work towards continuous improvement of product quality using our ISO 9000 Systems
- Provides support, coordination, and leadership for the AIM Program and Team across all Behlen facilities.
- Analyze, refine, and optimize fabrication processes, including cutting, welding, forming, and machining.
- Develop and implement innovative solutions to address operational challenges.
- Utilize CAD software to design process layouts, equipment modifications, and workflow optimizations.
- Work closely with production teams to ensure seamless integration of process changes.
- Apply data-driven decision-making and problem-solving techniques to improve manufacturing performance.
- Manages, tracks, and analyzes AIM suggestions from conception to implementation, ensuring successful project execution and continuous improvement.
- Coordinate all AIM week activities during the first week in December for the Columbus location.
- Responsible for the delivery of monthly and yearly AIM Idea winners, points and prizes.
- Responsible for the safety and training of all AIM Team Members.
- Responsible for compliance with all documented procedures and employee handbook.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned to support operational goals.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required
- 3 to 5 years of experience in Engineering or related field required
- Proficiency in CAD software for process design and layout optimization required
- 3 to 5 years of experience in engineering or manufacturing leadership roles preferred
- Lean Manufacturing certification preferred
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and creative thinking skills
- Proven ability to collaborate with and empower team members, leveraging their expertise to drive change and continuous improvement
- Demonstrated ability to strategically plan and execute initiatives and thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while delivering measurable results.
