What are the responsibilities and job description for the Job Foreman / Heavy Equipment Operator position at Behrle Construction, Inc.?
Responsibilities:
- Managing and directing daily crew operations under general supervision of the site Superintendent.
- Ensure schedules are followed and work is completed safely, efficiently, and effectively.
- Ability to communicate, solve problems and overcome any obstacles.
- Operate equipment as needed and inspect and maintain company equipment.
- Safety minded - ensure company follows all OSHA, facility and company safety policies and procedures. Complete required daily paperwork.
Requirements / Work Experience:
- 10-Hour OSHA course required (30-Hour recommended)
- Minimum 5 years experience/knowledge with grading, excavation and earth moving. (Underground utilities: water, sewer and storm drain also preferred, but not required)
- Must be able to read and understand plans and project specifications.
- Must be proficient at operating heavy equipment, ie. dozer, excavator, skid-loader, etc.
- CDL license preferred.
Other:
- No travel required - all work is local.
- Typical schedule is Monday-Friday 7 AM - 5 PM. Occasional additional overtime and weekends to meet deadlines when needed.
