Position Overview
Beitzel Corporation is an Industrial Construction and Service Company with nearly 50 years of experience in the Energy, Mining, Industrial Construction, Aggregate, and Renewables Industries. The Corporate Headquarters are located in Grantsville, MD with several offices throughout the country.
Beitzel Corporation is now accepting applications for a variable hour (part-time) Field Laborer - Civil. As a Field Laborer - Civil, the general role will support all operations of the Civil Group in representation of the Field Services Division. The Field Laborer - Civil must be available after-hours and weekends to answer calls from customers and Beitzel employees. This position must demonstrate general knowledge of excavation work in an industrial environment in civil applications.
The Field Laborer - Civil position will require a flexible work schedule and a willingness to travel, work extended hours to include weekends, holidays, evenings and extensive overnight/out-of-town work as needed.

What You'll Do
- Perform the day to day tasks assigned by the customer, foremen, Superintendent and or Civil Manager and ensure that all required equipment inspections and emergency situations are resolved in a timely and efficient manner
- Assist with the Civil operations with consistent quality and safe work practices
- Maintaining cleanliness of work areas
- Must be able to operate hand power tools of all types including: air hammers, shovels, and a variety of other equipment and instruments
- Cuts brush, clears ground, uses picks, shovels, wheelbarrows, axes, etc.
- Cleans and prepares sites, digs trenches, and assists with repairs
- Performing civil site work consisting of mass earth work, finish grading, asphalt paving, underground storm drain, water lines, sewer lines, dry utilities for residential and commercial projects
- Loading and unloading trucks

What You'll Bring
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Industrial experience or equivalent/relevant education and experience preferred
- Knowledge of the use of power tools
- Prior experience working off lifts or staging
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Ability to work under stress and handle stressful situations
- Ability to meet deadlines

Working Conditions
