Job Description
BekaertDeslee is the world’s leading specialist in the development and manufacturing of mattress textiles, mattress covers and on trend sleep solutions with U.S. operations in Winston-Salem, NC. BekaertDeslee develops stylish and smart mattress fabrics that will inspire, comfort and protect you during the night.
The main objective of the Inspector is to inspect textiles for defects, cut them into specified lengths, and label and package finished fabrics for shipping.
Main responsibilities and Key Result Areas:
1. Keep the area around the tenter clean and safe to work in
2. Load unfinished rolls of fabric at entry end of tenter
3. Sew roll into tenter frame
4. Connect mix can to pump(s)
5. Set correct process parameters onto the touch panel at operator station
6. Monitor quality parameters during processing of fabric
7. Cut and remove from tenter to the staging area, full A-frames
8. Pull full A-frames to inspection frames
9. Put up full rolls of plastic wrap at inspection frames
10. Stage pallets of inspection cores upon receipt and as needed in inspection
11. Pull full pallets from behind inspection frames and replace with empties
12. Clean the area of responsibility on the tenter daily
13. Other duties, as assigned
Educational Requirements:

- The worker is required to function in narrow aisles or passageways.
- The worker is subject to noise. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level.
- The worker is subject to hazards. Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.
- The worker is subject to atmospheric conditions. One or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system of the skin: fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation. The worker is required to function in narrow aisles or passageways.
