POSITION: BANQUET SERVER
Reports To: Director of Catering and Special Events, BANQUET MANAGER
Position Type: NON-EXEMPT
Job Summary:
The Banquet Server is responsible for providing exceptional food and beverage service to members and guests during special events and banquets held at Bel-Air Country Club. This role requires a strong commitment to customer satisfaction, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The Banquet Server plays a crucial role in creating memorable experiences for our members and guests.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Set up banquet rooms according to event specifications, including tables, chairs, linens, silverware, glassware, and centerpieces.
- Review banquet event orders (BEOs) to understand event details, including menu, timing, and special requests.
- Greet guests in a friendly and professional manner.
- Serve food and beverages to guests promptly and courteously, adhering to established service standards.
- Ensure tables are properly cleared and reset between courses.
- Respond to guest requests and inquiries with a positive and helpful attitude.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including banquet rooms, service stations, and storage areas.
- Adhere to all safety and sanitation regulations.
- Assist with event breakdown and cleanup, including clearing tables, removing linens, and resetting the room for the next event.
- Communicate effectively with other banquet staff, kitchen staff, and event coordinators.
- Report any guest complaints or issues to the Banquet Manager or Event Coordinator.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education and/or Experience
- High School Graduate or equivalent
- Previous fine dining or banquet experience
Job Knowledge, Core Competencies and Expectations :
- Previous experience as a banquet server or in a related food and beverage service role preferred.
- Excellent customer service skills and a passion for providing exceptional hospitality.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain composure under pressure.

- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Licenses and Special Requirements
- Food safety certification
- California Responsible Beverage Service License
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Approx. 15 hours of standing
- Approx. 15 hours of walking
- Required to stand for long periods and walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch and twist or reach.
- Must be able to lift food trays weighing 20-25 lbs.
- Must be able to push and or pull up to 50 pounds.
- Work in hot, cold and noisy environments.
