It has been host to the 1976 U.S. Amateur, the 2004 U.S. Senior Amateur, co-host of the 2017 U.S. Amateur, and the 2023 U.S. Women’s Amateur. Founded in 1925, the Bel- Air Country Club is a private club rich in tradition that offers an outstanding golf experience.

Job Summary (Essential Functions): This position needs to be organized and efficient to facilitate food deliveries from the kitchen to the dining areas. With a keen eye, the Food Runner ensures that the food being delivered is accurate according to the Chef’s standards and the guest’s preferences on the tickets. This position also cleans, sanitizes, and organizes the expediter area in the kitchen.

Job Tasks/Duties

Picks up food products for orders placed by the service staff and delivers the meal(s) to our Members. 

Acts as a point of contact between the Front of the House and the Back of the House. 

Assists the kitchen and service staff as needed to maintain the highest level of food quality, presentation, and timing to optimize our Members & guests dining experience.

Sets up the front line/expo with the equipment, plate ware, and small wares needed to effectively serve all food products.  Keeps station restocked throughout the shift.

Cleans large trays and tray stands to be ready for service.

Sets up plate wipe area each day and restocks it as needed.

Reads order tickets as they arrive and place onto ticket rail in order.

Tracks cooking times on all orders, checks finished product for proper appearance and plate presentation.

Garnishes finished entrees according to Chefs specifications and procedures.

Assists the server as needed to optimize the guest’s dining experience.

Accomplishes all job duties while adhering to all safety guidelines and practices throughout the shift.

Reports any unsafe condition, unsafe act, accidents and/or injuries to the chef or other manager on duty.

Correctly completes closing duties at the end of each shift.

Assists Chef and other kitchen personnel in accomplishing closing duties and kitchen cleanliness.

Completes all side work in the front and/or back of the house as assigned and scheduled by the members of the management team.

Removes soiled dishes from table; brings to dish-washing area.

Stocks food runner station with supplies.  Informs the Chef and/or the Manager on Duty when supplies are getting low, before we run out.

Takes packaged take-out orders to the Grill Room or Valet for member pick-up.

Folds napkins for under liners.

Cleans-up spills, broken service ware and attends to similar problems during service with minimal disruption to diners.

Squeezes juices as needed for the Bar

Performs other appropriate duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications


Physical Demands and Work Environment: Requires repetitive movement, using hands to handle, control or feel objects, tools or controls.  Requires walking and running, navigating 2 floor levels and the steps to and from these levels to the kitchen. Must stand for long periods of time and walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch, twist and reach.  Requires solving problems; establishing and maintaining good working relationships with peers; communicating with supervisors; judging the quality of things, services and people; providing customer service; and assisting members with any and all requests. Requires being exact or highly accurate and communicating with kitchen personnel regarding food orders, shortages or special orders.  Must be able to lift trays weighing 20-25 lbs and able to push or pull up to 50 pounds.  Must follow all procedure manuals and safety regulations. Must be able to work weekends and holidays. Must have a pleasant disposition and good customer service.  Must possess good communication skills and good coordination.
