As the Analytics & Insights Manager for Discount Mugs, you will spearhead the utilization of data-driven insights to sculpt and refine our marketing strategies, sales performance, and broad scale business analytics. Your analytical acumen will underpin crucial decision-making processes, influence the allocation of marketing budgets, and be pivotal in driving growth for Discount Mugs. This role demands a proactive leader passionate about leveraging data to forecast trends, optimize marketing campaigns, and enhance customer engagement.



Essential Functions: (The reason this job exists is to perform these functions. These functions are performed regularly, seriously impacts other jobs, and there are a limited number of employees whose performance of the function can be distributed.)

  • Build and lead the analytics team with a strategic vision to enhance marketing effectiveness and business performance through meticulous analysis of customer data, market trends, and campaign performance.
  • Develop and oversee the implementation of sophisticated analytical models and machine learning algorithms. These models are expected to predict customer behaviors, sales trends, and market dynamics to refine marketing strategies.
  • Work closely with various teams across the organization to ensure marketing strategies are well-aligned with overall business objectives. Champion the integration of data-driven decision-making within the across all the division.
  • Continuously seek and integrate new analytical methods and technologies to stay ahead of market trends and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Provide comprehensive reports and analyses to senior management demonstrating the impact of data-driven strategies on business outcomes. Identify opportunities for improvement and strategize accordingly.
  • Establish and monitor analytical metrics that align with the company's strategic objectives.
  • Ensure the accurate collection, integration, and cleanliness of data from diverse sources, including website traffic, social media platforms, CRM systems, and third-party vendors.
  • Measure the effectiveness of different marketing campaigns, including email marketing, paid ads, and social media, in terms of return on investment and other relevant metrics.
  • Design and analyze A/B testing for various marketing channels and website elements to enhance customer engagement and conversion rates.
  • Use analytics to optimize pricing models and promotional strategies to maximize revenue and profitability.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the team, encouraging the adoption of new analytics techniques and tools.
  • Manage resources efficiently to support analytics functions and projects without overspending.
  • Ensure the team is proficient in using necessary analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, SQL databases, and PowerBI).
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies that can improve data collection, analysis, and visualization capabilities.
  • Adhere to legal and ethical standards concerning data privacy, including GDPR and CCPA, especially in handling customer information.
  • Establish and maintain policies regarding data accuracy, accessibility, consistency, and completeness to ensure reliable data management practices.
  • Perform all other duties and or projects as assigned by a supervisor or manager.


Essential Qualifications: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education/Certification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related field. A Master’s degree or higher is preferred.
  • Certifications like Certified Analytics Professional (CAP), Google Analytics IQ, or others related to specific tools or methodologies used in analytics are a plus.

Experience Required:

  • 5-8 years in analytics or a related field, with at least 2-3 years in a managerial or leadership role overseeing analytics teams.
  • Strong expertise in statistical modeling, machine learning, predictive analytics, and data interpretation.
  • Experience working in DTC e-commerce strongly preferred whether B2B or B2C.
  • Experience leading and developing a team of analysts or data scientists.
  • Proficient in analytical tools and software (e.g., R, Python, SQL, Tableau, SAS).
  • Strong foundation in statistical tests, distributions, maximum likelihood estimators, etc.
  • Experience in the marketing domain, understanding of market dynamics, customer behavior analytics, campaign analysis, etc. particularly in reference to e-commerce businesses.
  • Proven track record of managing analytics projects from conception through execution, including defining KPIs and ROI analysis.
  • Ability to align analytics initiatives with broader business goals and strategic plans.
  • Ability to approach complex business problems analytically with a detail-oriented mindset.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively with cross-functional teams and senior management.
  • Exceptional ability to narrate a story through data and convert complex findings into simple conclusions and clear strategies.
  • Can adapt to changing business needs and continuously evolve techniques and strategies in data handling.
  • Understanding of data privacy and ethical considerations in data usage.
