Job Description

Job Title: Assistant Plant Controller

Reports to: Plant Controller

Number of Direct Reports: 0

Key Internal Partners: Plant Operations, Supply Chain, Continuous Improvement, Engineering, Quality, Human Resources, Purchasing, and Corporate Finance

Job Summary:

The Assistant Plant Controller in TVC will support the Plant Controller. Will support all financial aspects of the factory operations in order to guarantee and optimize the plant's financial performance and to secure its assets in a challenging context.

Job Responsibilities & Tasks:

  • Assist with the financial planning for the plant: budget, forecast and business plan
  • Provide support for weekly performance report for factory management team in order to identify and address gaps proactively.
  • Assist in inventory cycle counting, audits, and year-end physical inventory to include spare parts, raw materials, packaging, and finished goods.
  • Develop deep understanding of factory ERP system, ensuring data integrity and consistency.
  • Assist with month-end closing duties and reporting to include preparation of journal entries and account analysis.
    • Perform general accounting, payables, order entry, billing, and cost accounting.
    • Validation of correct item codes and payable routing codes.
  • Develop, implement and improve processes, tools, and systems to assist with volume growth.
  • Support Plant Controller with the evaluation of the financial aspects of existing and proposed business ventures (i.e. ROI, pricing, capital expenditures, etc.)
  • Complete standard to actual monthly cost report by running reports out of the ERP (VIF) and summarizing and communicating the data in a standard format, monthly BOM audit/review/validation
  • Must be capable of adapting to the needs of the business in anticipation of significant business growth and corresponding impact to financial reporting.
  • Use of tools such as Power BI and Microsoft Office to develop new formats for consolidation and streamlining of data reporting needs.
  • All other duties as assigned

  • SQCDME weekly
  • Timely, accurate financial analysis/reports
  • Display key understanding of Financial Process with ability to communicate impacts in a manner to align with other departments responsibilities.

Position Requirements:

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or a technical field preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting and/or finance experience in an Analytical/Audit capacity.
  • Experience at a Food Manufacturing preferred, experience at a manufacturing facility required.
  • Experience with SAP S4 Hana strongly preferred

Skills

  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel (Power Query) and Power BI.
  • Strong sense of job ownership coupled with a solid team orientation

  • Must be able to multi-task and meet demanding deadlines

  • Ability to work collaboratively both internally and externally.

  • Must be able work in normal office conditions
  • Must be able to work 8 hours per day
  • Must be able to travel via airplane within the U.S. intermittently
