JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :

Generate, review, and edit documentation that is user-focused and of the highest quality.
Contribute to our technical writing tools, working on everything from style guides to the documentation lifecycle and review process.
Work with Engineering to deliver accurate and compliant documentation that informs and instructs, providing a straightforward user experience.
Collaborate in a team environment to create and validate technical documentation for our Navy customers and sailors.
Produce exceptionally well-written and presented materials, and develop the infrastructure and tools needed to maintain documentation across our product range.
Create technical procedures, user guides, release notes, troubleshooting guides, and descriptive documentation.
Work closely with engineering, product, and business teams throughout all phases of product development, including design, development, testing, and operation.
Ensure that customers have access to the right documentation at every stage.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS :

Must be a US Citizen.

Department of Defense Secret security clearance required within a reasonable period of time.

Bachelor's degree in a related specialized area or field, or equivalent, plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; OR Master's degree.

2 years of demonstrated excellence generating technical documentation for an informed audience.

Advanced skills with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and PDF file formats.

Understanding and demonstrated practice of documentation revision / version control.

Experience reading and interpreting software and hardware user documentation, complex technical products, and structured certification processes.

Experience working in digital collaboration environments such as Teams and SharePoint.

Prior use of document automation platforms, e.g., PandaDoc, is a benefit.

Basic development proficiency.

Demonstrated passion for excellent documentation and user experiences.

Clear and persuasive writing and in-person communication skills for a variety of audiences.

Solid knowledge of the structure and content of the English language, including spelling, composition rules, and grammar.

Strong written communication skills and the ability to tailor communication to target audience through effective listening and interviewing skills.

Solid understanding of DoD MIL standards and style guides and the ability to adhere to and implement such standards in technical documentation.

Passion to learn new information quickly and handle increasing responsibilities with growing complexity.

The ability to thrive with a high level of autonomy and responsibility, managing competing demands and occasional tight deadlines.
