Job Description :
Provide expertise in the development, implementation and management of effective Safety, Health and Environment programs / systems. Routinely analyzes hazardous situations and identifies alternative courses of action.
Responsibilities :
Assist with the development, documentation, improvement, and audit of site environmental, health and safety systems to assure conformance and effectiveness.
Determine plant environmental, safety, and health requirements and analyze for compatibility with corporate practices.
Provides expertise in the development, implementation, and maintenance of Health, Safety and Environmental programs / procedures
Performs audits and safety inspections of work environments, processes, and operations in compliance with government regulations and industry standards
Ensures all applicable registrations, permits, and licenses are in place and current.
Lead activities in support of Kaizen, Safety Star Point Teams (Safety Committee), Emergency Response Teams, and other project teams.
Participates in developing and implementing training programs for employees.
Gathers data for the purpose of identifying, reducing, or eliminating sources of pollutants and / or hazards that affect the work environment and health of the employees
Ensure that best practices, incidents, near misses, etc., are communicated between facilities following established guidelines.
Assist with regulatory-required environmental reporting, including hazardous / residual waste, air emissions, wastewater, and others
Working knowledge of industry safety, OSHA, EPA, and other state-specific agency regulations and environmental system standards and their application to an industrial environment.
Ability to effectively communicate environmental, health, and safety concepts, plans, and technical data.
Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance is required.
May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s), and additional hours as necessary
Travel up to 20%
Education and Experience :
Bachelor"s Degree (preferred in Environmental, Health, and Safety)
5 years of relevant Health, Safety, and Environment regulations / standards experience
