Job Title: Lead Piping Designer
Location: Baytown, Texas
Pay Rate: $80 per hour (No Benefits)
Duration: Indefinite
Description
Position: Piping Designer (S3D)
Key Responsibilities:
• Create and modify 3D piping models using Smart3D (S3D)
• Generate 2D drawings including isometrics and orthographic drawings from 3D models
• Perform clash detection analysis utilizing laser scans and resolve interference issues
• Generate technical documentation and reports using Covestro templates, such as line list, tie-in list, valve list, etc.
• Ensure compliance with piping specifications and design standards
• Redline and update P&IDs to reflect Project Scope
• Support & coordinate discipline model reviews to meet business requirements across all discipline
Technical Skills Required:
• Proficiency in Hexagon's SmartPlant 3D (S3D) software
• Experience with 3D model creation and modification
• Experience with laser scanning (Leica preferred)
• Knowledge of piping systems and plant layout design
• Ability to perform clash detection and resolution
• Understanding of piping specifications and industry standards
• Experience with drawing generation and documentation
Additional Requirements:
• Ability to work with project stakeholders and other disciplines
• Understanding of quality control processes for 3D models
• Knowledge of plant breakdown structures and naming conventions
• Experience with model review and validation procedures
• Experience with CAD Software and related drafting and drawing tools
• Experience with brownfield engineering
Qualifications:
• Experience 10 years
• Experience with brownfield engineering
The role requires close collaboration with Project Managers, Engineering Managers, Discipline Leads, and Operations Representatives to ensure successful project delivery within schedule and budget constraints.
Salary : $70 - $80
