Job Description:  To provide a well-organized, smoothly functioning class environment in which students can take full advantage of the instructional program in the assigned teacher’s absence.  Resource Assistant will cover teacher absences that are long term (30 days or more).

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED certificate                                                   
• Current NMPED Substitute Teacher License, or Level I, II, III Teacher License Required
• Salary dependent on level of education and license.
• Follows local, state and federal law adheres to Public Educations Department and Local School Board Policy.
• Teaches content and skills to students in the absence of assigned teacher utilizing course of study adopted by the Board of Educations and other appropriate learning activities.
• Evaluates and records each student’s progress when required.
• Maintains standards of student behavior needed to provide an orderly and productive environment.
• Develops instructional plans and organizes class time during prolonged absence of assigned teacher.
• Communicates with teachers and counselors on student progress.
• Performs such other relevant tasks as may be assigned.
• Supervises student in and out of classroom.
• Adheres to standard ethical practices required of regular certified staff.

Salary dependent on level of education

Salary : $16 - $17
