Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Soccer Coach to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sports coaching and a commitment to fostering the development of student-athletes. This role involves teaching the fundamentals of Soccer, promoting teamwork, and instilling a love for the sport while ensuring a safe and positive environment for all participants.
Job Responsibilities/Duties
Develop and implement training programs that enhance players' skills and understanding of volleyball.
Conduct regular practice sessions focusing on technique, strategy, and teamwork.
Educate athletes on the rules of the game, sportsmanship, and the importance of physical fitness.
Monitor athletes' progress and provide constructive feedback to encourage improvement.
Organize and manage team events, including games, tournaments, and community outreach activities.
Collaborate with parents, school staff, and other coaches to support student-athletes' overall development.
Ensure compliance with safety standards during practices and competitions.
Recruit and Increase Student Participation
Assist Athletic Director in selecting personnel for the particular sport
Organize, direct, and supervise assistant coaches
Establish and communicate the fundamental philosophy, skills, and techniques to be taught by coaches at all levels of the program
Develop integrity within the coaching staff and fellow coaches at all levels
Work with other coaches to facilitate multi-sport athletes
Use sound proven methods of coaching and display knowledge and innovation of the sport
Clearly communicate with individual/team about goals, performance, and progress
Develop and maintain a competitive environment
Instruct individual participants in the skills necessary for excellent achievement in the sport involved
Organize, plan, and schedule a regular program of practice in and out of season
Organize and implement a summer developmental program
Assist Athletic Director in planning contests, special events, etc.
Communicate and work with medical personnel and parents involving athletes' injuries
Monitor the safety conditions of the facility or area in which assigned sport is conducted at all times that athletes are present
Maintain accurate statistics, records, and results of the season
Enforce discipline and sportsmanship behavior at all times, and establish and oversee penalties for breach of such standards by individual athletes
Maintain competency in rules, rule interpretations, meet procedures, coaching techniques, and general information about all aspects of the sport.
Comply with pre-season, in-season, and post-season expectations set forth by the Athletic Director or outlined in the coaching handbook
Recommend purchase of equipment, supplies, and uniforms and submit in a timely manner
Account for all equipment or delegate the responsibility
Exhibit acceptable personal conduct and appearance before, during, and after games
Skills
Proven experience in sports coaching, particularly in Soccer or related sports such as basketball or cheerleading.
Ability to work effectively with students of various ages and skill levels.
Strong communication skills to educate and motivate athletes.
Experience in childcare or working with youth in health club settings is advantageous.
Knowledge of swimming or climbing can be beneficial for cross-training purposes.
Certification as a lifeguard is a plus but not required.
Job Qualifications:
Previous Varsity Coaching Experience or College Playing Experience preferred
Valid Indiana Teaching License preferred but not required
Salary Information:
The position is a stipend position.
