As we near completion of a new plant and prepare for commercialization, we are seeking multiple experienced candidates to join our Maintenance team.
Summary
The Industrial Maintenance Technician will contribute to the efficient and effective operation and maintenance of various machinery and equipment at Believer Meat’s new cultivated meat plant. This includes Up and Downstream process equipment, equipment utilities (hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic), and overall facility functions. This role performs preventative maintenance, does regular inspections, and documents activities as needed. The Technician will work collaboratively across departments and contribute to the Believer’s commitment to safety and quality.
Schedule: General schedule may include 12-hour shifts on a rotating schedule (2-2-3 schedule). Dayshift or Nightshift roles available on-site in Wilson, North Carolina.

Your Day-to-Day
- Contribute to and help develop comprehensive maintenance program for all plant equipment and systems.
- Interpret schematics for and diagnose electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
- Ensure timely execution of maintenance tasks to minimize downtime and prolong equipment lifespan.
- Collaborate with production departments to reduce equipment downtime.
- Conduct regular inspections and maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance.
- Assist facilities department with building upkeep and ensure facility remains in good condition and complies with all safety and regulatory requirements.
- Perform regular safety audits, wear PPE, and follow best practices and established safety procedures in all work activities.
- Other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have 3 years of experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in the biotech or food manufacturing environment. We are seeking a Maintenance Technician with demonstrated experience performing quality work, taking initiative and developing expertise with a variety of systems. The incumbent will have a combination of skills, education, and skills that demonstrate the ability to fulfill all aspects of this job description.
- Strong knowledge of electrical and motor control circuits
- Ability to serve on the facility HazMat response team (training provided).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
- OSHA 10 (preferred)
- Ability to work flexible hours and shifts of up to 12 hours.
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, company and equipment software).
- Must consistently follow all safety and food safety protocols, guidelines, and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. This includes properly using personal protective equipment (PPE), identifying and reporting potential hazards, and actively participating in safety training and initiatives. A commitment to maintaining a culture of safety and minimizing risks to yourself and your colleagues is essential.
