Believer Meats is an innovative start-up revolutionizing the food industry through the development and commercialization of cultivated meat products. Leveraging cutting-edge biotechnology, we aim to provide sustainable, ethical, and high-quality meat alternatives to consumers worldwide. As we near completion of a new plant and prepare for commercialization, we are seeking Warehouse Coordinator to join our team.

The Warehouse Coordinator will play a key role in the set-up of the warehouse for Believer Meat’s new cultivated meat production facility. The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of experience in the warehouse environment and a desire to grow and make an impact at our start-up company. The Coordinator reports to the Supply Chain & Warehouse Logistics Manager, updates inventory databases, moves products, and assists with shipping and receiving. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential to the role.

This is a full-time, hourly, dayshift role eligible for benefits (PTO, Paid Holidays, Health Care, Parental Leave, and Retirement). The Warehouse Coordinator works dayshift on-site in Wilson, North Carolina.

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY

Creates systems and organizes inventory including consumables, ingredients, and finished goods.
Manages warehouse inventory and maintains database.
Coordinates and schedules the movement of products throughout the warehouse including storage and shipment of finished products.
Confirms availability of items to be shipped by verifying inventory records or conducting inventories of required items.
Directs forklift drivers to store goods in identified areas and operates forklift daily.
Manually handles, repacks, or restacks pallets of finished product as needed.
Documents all related activities and completes forms and reports.
Performs other related duties as directed.
Receives goods and verifies the quality and count of all items unloaded from trucks and trailers; checks against suppliers’ count and immediately reports discrepancies to carriers, supervisor, and purchasing officer per company policy
Prepares bills of lading for shipments.

QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate will have 2 years of experience in the warehouse environment, preferably in the food manufacturing industry . The incumbent Warehouse Coordinator will have a combination of skills, education, and skills that demonstrate the ability to fulfill all aspects of this job description.

High school diploma or equivalent.

Valid driver’s license and forklift operator certificate (or ability to obtain).

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills and attention to detail.

Basic understanding of or ability to quickly learn company product codes and terminology.

Thorough understanding of warehouse policies and procedures.

Good analytical skills and ability to make sound judgments relative to inventory.

Authorized to work in the US and commute regularly to the work site.

Ability to pass pre-employment background screening, physical and drug test (as applicable).

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

With or without reasonable accommodation

Mobility : Must be able to navigate and maneuver around production and warehouse facilities, including moving between different areas, operating machinery, and accessing various storage locations. This includes the ability to walk, stand for extended periods, and climb ladders or use forklifts as needed.

Manual Dexterity : Requires the ability to handle and manipulate small tools, operate computer systems, and manage inventory. Tasks may include using hand tools for minor repairs, handling packaging materials, and performing quality checks

Physical Endurance : Should be able to work for long hours, often on their feet, with the ability to endure varying temperatures in a warehouse environment. Stamina is needed for extended periods of activity, including walking, standing, and occasional lifting.

Visual and Auditory Acuity : Must have good visual acuity to inspect products, read labels, and identify potential issues with inventory or equipment. Auditory acuity is also important for communication in noisy environments and for hearing alarms or equipment sounds.

Lifting and Carrying : Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds with proper technique as needed.
