The Director of Finance is responsible for the financial health and stewardship of the organization, which oversees Believers Church, Oak & Lily Academy, and Hub 757 event center. This role ensures sound financial management, strategic planning, and compliance while balancing the unique needs of each entity. The Director of Finance must be skilled in financial reporting, financial controls oversight, leading small teams, external audit management and analytical review.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Strategy & Oversight
- Develop and implement financial strategies aligning with organizational goals.
- Maintain integrated financial tracking for all three entities.
- Provide financial analysis and recommendations for sustainable growth.
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Lead annual budget development, ensuring sustainability.
- Monitor revenue, expenses, and financial performance.
- Collaborate with ministry leaders for fiscal responsibility.
Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Prepare/present financial reports to senior leadership and governing boards.
- Ensure compliance with nonprofit financial regulations and audits.
- Conduct the annual Believers Church Family Meeting for budget approval.
Tuition, Donations & Revenue Oversight
- Manage tuition billing, payment processing, and financial aid distribution.
- Oversee donor management systems for accurate tracking.
- Coordinate financial operations for event center rentals.
Payroll, Benefits & Operational Efficiency
- Supervise payroll processing, benefits administration, and compliance.
- Implement and improve financial policies and procedures.
- Evaluate and manage financial software for accuracy and efficiency.
Team Leadership & Collaboration
- Lead and develop the finance team.
- Work with leadership to align financial priorities.
- Serve as liaison with banks, auditors, and vendors.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration (CPA/MBA preferred).
- 7 years of financial leadership, ideally in a multi-entity nonprofit or faith-based organization.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Ability to communicate financial concepts clearly.
- A personal and growing relationship with Jesus.
