The Business Development Manager I is a senior sales position within the organization. You will work with the internal team, marketing staff, and other leaders to increase sales opportunities and, thereby, maximize revenue for the organization. To achieve this, you will identify new customers, present to them compelling solutions, and convert them into Belimed clients that are committed to growing their Belimed base of business.
You will also help to manage existing clients to maintain user satisfaction and strong reference accounts. You will work to improve Belimed’s market position and achieve annual financial growth targets. You will build key customer relationships, identify business opportunities, negotiate and close business deals, maintain extensive knowledge of current market conditions, and assist with defining long-term organizational strategic goals.

Travel: Overnight up to 75% within the US

New Business Development
- Prospect for new clients within targeted segment to increase organizational revenue.
- Maintain and grow a healthy pipeline of opportunity throughout designated area of coverage. Meet potential clients by growing, maintaining, and leveraging assigned network.
- Identify and work with key decision makers within the client organization.
- Research and build relationships with new clients at key levels throughout the organization.
- Plan approaches and pitches. Work with team to develop solution proposals that speaks to the client’s needs, concerns, and objectives.
- Handle objections by clarifying, emphasizing agreements and working through differences to a positive conclusion. Use a variety of styles to persuade or negotiate appropriately.
- Present a solution that creates the ultimate desired outcome for the customer.
- Present new products and services to enhance existing relationships.
- Work with technical staff and other internal colleagues to meet customer needs.
- Arrange and participate in internal and external client debriefs.
- Attend industry functions, such as association events and conferences, and provide feedback and information on market and creative trends.
- Present to and consult with mid and senior level management on business trends with a view to developing new services, products, and distribution channels.
- Identify opportunities for campaigns, services, and distribution channels that will lead to an increase in sales.
- Using knowledge of the market and competitors, identify and develop the company’s unique selling propositions and differentiators.
- Submit weekly progress reports and ensure sales data are accurate.
- Ensure that data are accurately entered and managed within the company’s CRM or other sales management system.
- Forecast sales targets on a monthly basis and ensure they are met by the team.
- Track and record activity on key accounts and help to close new business and meet/exceed financial targets.
- Work with marketing staff to ensure that prerequisites are fulfilled within a timely manner.
- Present business development training and mentoring to business developers and other internal staff.
- Research and develop a thorough understanding of the company’s people and capabilities.
- Understand the company’s goal and purpose to directly help influence continual organizational success and overachievement.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or related field
- 2 years successful capital medical sales experience
- Demonstrated success in strategic selling with a 2-3 year business horizon
- Exceptional customer service skills and focus, including the ability to build strong customer partnerships characterized by mutual trust and respect
- Ability to quickly read the business landscape and recognize the customer’s processes, functions, and roles
- Effective, relational communication style and listening skills, with the ability to quickly summarize and articulate customer issues and concerns
- Effective and efficient time management skills; concentrating on the most important priorities and segmenting accounts based on potential opportunities
- Demonstrated integrity and acts ethically, even during times of high stress and pressure
- Action oriented and shows a high sense of urgency
- Ability to negotiate with Belimed and the customer in mind
- Proficiency with sales documents and contracts, purchase orders, and financial spreadsheets and reports
- Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability and willingness to travel overnight up to 75% within the US (residency near a major airport within the designated territory is required)
