JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: CUSTOMER SERVICE ASSOCIATE (CSA)
REPORTS TO: Store Supervisor
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt (Hourly)
JOB OVERVIEW: Responsible for ensuring our customers have a positive shopping experience. The CSA welcomes customers with a friendly greeting and eye contact, ensures proper merchandise presentation, operates cash register, laminating machines and other operating equipment; as well as maintains online sales and updates store website in accordance with policies and procedures. Keeps a clean work area at all times and treats fellow associates with courtesy and respect.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Processes register transactions, operates laminating machines, measures/cuts butcher paper, creates die cuts, utilizes binding machine, cutting board, website updates, online sales and follows company’s best practices and productivity standards.
- Provides prompt and efficient responses to customers and handles all customer requests in a courteous and genuinely helpful way.
- Takes accurate markdowns, counts and inventories as scheduled.
- Maintains brand name familiarity and product knowledge to assist customers with suggestions.
- Performs cleaning tasks (art station, bathrooms, classroom, storage rooms, sales floor dusting, vacuum, etc..) to ensure a neat, clean and organized store.
- Safeguards confidential customer and credit card information.
- Maintains a high level of awareness and customer contact on the sales floor to prevent customer theft.
- Reports any unsafe conditions or practices and follows safety policies to minimize risk, losses to the company and/or theft.
- Understands all policies and procedures concerning cash, credit cards, refunds, voids and offline procedures.
- Follows company policy on scheduling and timekeeping policies and practices.
- Assists with paint classes and art camps (scheduling, setting up, breakdown, cleaning, etc..)
- Demonstrates TRUE courtesy, respect, friendliness and professionalism at all times.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
- High School diploma or GED
- Previous cash handling experience
- Previous work experience in a retail setting and/or school setting preferred
- Proficiency with computers and related software applications
- Sales experience preferred
- Previous experience in Education highly preferred
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
This position requires frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive hand movements, standing, walking, squatting and sitting, with some lifting, pushing and pulling exerted regularly throughout a regular work shift. Requires occasional lifting and carrying items weighing up to 20 pounds unassisted.
