Summary
The Flock Technical Specialist performs technical tasks related to Bell & Evans Broiler production program while working closely with Flock Supervisors to ensure compliance to regulatory programs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain broiler operation GAP Certification and Organic Certification. As part of this responsibility, review paperwork, schedule audits, attend audits as a representative of Bell and Evans. Keep broiler manager and VP Live Operations updated on any upcoming changes to standards.
Maintain broiler departments NPIP blood records and coordinate the yearly NPIP audit.
Manage broiler manual with current SOP’s and coordinate printing of new manuals.
Manage broiler grower’s biosecurity plans. Including tracking the biannual renewal and submitting to State for approval. Coordinate surveillance swabbing during times of HPAI quarantine zones.
Maintain all animal welfare, safety and bio-security practices on all farms.
Other duties as assigned by Broiler Manager.
Education and/or Experience
Ability to quickly adapt to ongoing continuous improvement changes.
Effective communicator.
Bachelor’s degree in Poultry Science, or a related field or equivalent experience preferred.
One to two years of experience in poultry production preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Must have current driver’s license.
Must acquire and maintain an up to date Poultry Technician Certificate through the State of Pennsylvania.
