What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Manager position at Bell & Associates, Inc.?
Position Overview
As the Quality Manager, you are responsible for leading the Quality department to include all internal and external inspection and associated documentation. You are also responsible for maintaining the Quality Management System, ISO9001 certification, and facilitating all third-party audits. You will also ensure submission of certification document packages to customers. In addition, you will be a working Manager who performs CMM Technician responsibilities. Should be able to train machinists on how to use the programmable CMM.
Position Responsibilities
- Responsible for maintaining and improving the Quality Management System (QMS)
- Implement and maintain ISO9001 certification
- Manage systems-based tasks such as NCR's, Corrective Actions, PPAP submissions, etc.
- Create inspection plans for manufactured parts within ProShop
- Conduct in-process inspections including incoming vendor supplied parts and production parts
- Program, set-up, and run Mitutoyo CRYSTA-Apex V 9106 CMM
- Resolve product quality issues with customers and vendors in a timely manner
- Lead internal audits to confirm conformance and to enforce adherence and understanding
- Train current and new associates on quality procedures, metrology usage, and CMM operation. Develop and maintain training curriculum
- Track quality metrics
- Manage calibration programs and maintain the quality lab
- Attain operational proficiency with current systems within the first 8 months
- Manage Quality team to meet the quality standards of the organization
- Work closely with others across multi-disciplined teams
