Job Summary
BELL Construction his hiring for a Heavy Equipment Operator in Knoxville, TN. This role works on construction sites for the building, demolition, and/or excavation of projects. The Operator controls construction equipment and/or vehicles in an accurate and safe manner to appropriately aid with the movement of material.
Job Responsibilities
- Operates some or all of the following heavy equipment: Backhoe/Hydraulic Excavator (3/4 yard & over), Crane (less than 20 tons), End Loader (3 yards & over), Motor Patrol (Finish), Pile Driver, and Dragline.
- Operates vehicles or equipment according to the signals of a working person and traffic laws.
- Monitors performance and adjusts settings of all equipment to ensure tasks are completed correctly and safely.
- Loads and unloads cargo to the appropriate area using heavy equipment.
- Performs daily pre- and post-inspections to ensure proper function of machinery and equipment.
- Maintains accurate logs and records of equipment.
- Performs preventative maintenance on equipment, including fluid/filter changes and part lubrication.
- Reports necessary larger repairs.
- Performs additional responsibilities as needed.
Education & Experience
- Minimum required – High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum required – Three (3) years of heavy equipment operating experience.
- Preferred – Commercial Driver’s License.
