Job Summary
BELL Construction is hiring for a Superintendent to join their Building division in Nashville, TN. The Superintendent is responsible for leading, directing, and coordinating the work of Subcontractors, Assistant Superintendents, Field Engineers, Foremen, Interns, and trade labor and includes ensuring safety, schedule delivery, quality of work performed, and adherence to the project budget.
Job Responsibilities
- Ensures the safety of the project by adhering to all Bell Policies and OSHA safety standards. Has full ability to stop work if unsafe conditions exist and reports concerns to the project team and Safety department.
- Develops and monitors company field policies, procedures, and training.
- Effectively mentors and provides training for field employees.
- Plans, directs, and prioritizes all trades to keep the project moving and on schedule.
- Ensures compliance with all codes and company, state, and federal policies and regulations.
- Efficiently manages material resources (equipment, facilities, and materials needed to complete work).
- Works with Project Managers to develop schedules and Construction Reviews.
- Develops and implements site utilization plans, including hoisting and building access.
- Keeps daily reports and weather logs current and accurate.
- Manages employees effectively (promote, direct, discipline).
- Communicates effectively with other trades or subcontractors regarding scheduling and coordination of work to meet deadlines.
- Coordinates and schedules inspections with AHJs.
- Effectively identifies and resolves potential problems, work interferences, and schedule difficulties.
- Successfully builds and maintains good working relationships with the project design team and ownership parties and effectively communicates necessary information clearly and timely.
- Partners with the Safety Director and Quality Control Director to manage and ensure compliance with each program’s policies, protocols, and government regulations for all projects.

Education & Experience
- Minimum required – Five (5) years of construction experience.
- OSHA-30 preferred.
Knowledge & Skills
- Prior experience with Viewpoint preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Uses sound judgment and decision-making to choose appropriate actions.
