Job Summary:
This position reviews retail loans and lines, home equity loans/lines, and modifications/extensions, for proper documentation. This position ensures that files are complete and documents comply with Regulation Z, Regulation O and Regulation B, RESPA, HMDA and the CFPB regulations.
Primary Duties:
- Loan Documentation File Review:
- Review all retail loan documentation according to established procedures.
- Prepare files for document imaging.
- Input ticklers for missing signatures, missing documents and/or incorrect documents.
- Review and log HMDA data.
- Verify Technical Exceptions have been set up correctly on the tickler system.
- Assist with training new employees.
- Partake in all other related duties as assigned in support of the daily functions of the Retail Loan Documentation, Retail, and Loan Operations departments.
- Participate in internal and external training to maintain knowledge of Bell Bank products, systems, and services, as well as any required Bell Bank compliance training.
- Adhere to all Bell Bank standards, policies and procedures as well as banking laws and regulations.
- Utilize problem solving skills, external and internal resources to resolve issues as efficiently as possible.
- Escalate complex problems to Team Manager or Retail Loan Administrator.
- Assist with special projects designated by the Team Manager or Retail Loan Administrator.
- Know by name and face as many customers and employees as possible, calling them by name as often as possible.
- Know and practice LOCBUTN, our Golden Rules, and Bell Bank Customer Service Standards.
- Know, understand, and live the company values and bottom line.
- Conduct activities consistent with established Bell Bank policies, procedures and systems, the Bell Bank Employee Conduct policies, the Bank Secrecy Act and all applicable state and federal laws and regulations.
- All employees are responsible for information security, including compliance with policies and standards which protect sensitive information.
- Prompt and reliable attendance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Skills Required:
- Detail oriented and possess good working knowledge of rules, regulations and policies relating to loan documentation acquired through 3 to 6 months experience in loan documentation.
- Competent in the use of personal computer systems, internet applications and electronic mail, and various windows based software applications.
- Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and work independently.
- Good communication skills to interact with all Lenders and Loan Assistants.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Excellent analytical, decision-making and effective problem resolution skills.
- Proven ability to work productively and efficiently without direct supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and multi-task in a high-volume work flow with multiple priorities, interruptions and possible short-term deadlines.
- Ability to be flexible in a dynamic and challenging environment characterized by sometimes changing priorities and react to those changes productively.
