Responsibilities
- Curate and maintain an extensive wine list that reflects the restaurant's culinary offerings and guest preferences.
- Provide expert wine recommendations to guests, enhancing their dining experience through personalized service.
- Conduct wine tastings and educational sessions for staff and guests to promote wine knowledge and appreciation.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to create harmonious food and wine pairings for menu items.
- Manage inventory of wines, including ordering, receiving, and proper storage to ensure quality.
- Handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently using POS systems.
- Assist in catering events and banquets by providing wine service and guidance on selections.
- Ensure compliance with food handling regulations and maintain cleanliness in the wine storage area.
Experience
- Previous experience in a fine dining environment is preferred, showcasing strong customer service skills.
- Knowledge of culinary principles related to food and beverage pairing is highly desirable.
- Experience with cash handling procedures and familiarity with POS systems is beneficial.
- A background in catering or banquet service will be considered an asset.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage guests and provide exceptional service.
