What are the responsibilities and job description for the Concrete Finisher/Laborer position at Bell Contracting, Inc?
Job Summary
Seeking experienced concrete finishers and laborers for roadway paving and runway construction on military installations and federal highway construction projects. Each concrete finisher will be responsible for placing, finishing, protecting, and repairing concrete and following directions from supervisors and other skilled tradesmen. Each concrete finisher is expected to complete all duties and responsibilities with reasonable accommodations if necessary. Bell Contracting Inc does not pay for relocation expenses.
Primary duties and responsibilities include,
- Finish freshly placed concrete, applying surface treatments, restoring concrete surfaces and understanding proper curing methods.
- Monitor the wind, heat, and cold as it affects the curing of the concrete.
- Perform various tasks and duties that may often change as the work conditions require.
- Work in various weather conditions.
- Cut joints/grooves in concrete with edging tools to help control cracking.
- Set forms to desired pitch, depth and proper alignment.
- Signal truck drivers and moving chutes to facilitate pouring concrete onto forms.
- Work harmoniously, cooperatively, and courteously with others at all times.
- Follow directions and instructions from supervisors.
- Perform all other related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Must have a clean driving record.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen, background, and/or MVR check.
