What are the responsibilities and job description for the Deputy Constable II Precinct 4 position at Bell County?
Bell County is seeking applications for the position of Deputy Constable in Killeen. Annual salary is $54,107 per year plus benefits (health/dental insurance, paid vacation, sick time, equipment provided, holidays off and overtime pay). An additional benefit is Certification pay.
Essential Functions:
1) The person in this position is a Licensed Texas Peace Officer who is assigned to assist in the operation and security of Justice of the Peace courts, County of Bell.
2) Performs secretarial and clerical duties by typing various correspondences and reports, filing, making files, entering data into computer, distributing mail and accepting payments and fees relating to the department.
Applicants must be 21 years old; good physical condition; no felony or misdemeanor convictions above class C; valid Texas Driver's license with no pattern of poor driving.
Applicants must have an Associate's Degree or 60 hours of college and three (3) years of law enforcement experience; have a Bachelor's Degree and one (1) year experience; five (5) years of experience; and/or equivalent combination of the above.
Applicant MUST HAVE A CURRENT VALID TEXAS PEACE OFFICERS LICENSE (THIS IS MANDATORY). Applicant will go through phases to be considered for employment: demonstrate firearm proficiency; pass drug screening, polygraph and a psychological exam; and an agility test. A Conditional Offer of Employment is not a guarantee of employment, but another testing phase for consideration of the job performance.
