JOB SUMMARY :
The Hatchery driver will be an integral part of hatchery operations by operating tractor-trailer combinations for use in the safe and timely delivery of day-old chicks to customers, as well as the safe and timely pick-up of eggs from source farms. Our candidate will train on both the egg side of the operation, as well as the chick side, and work as a fill-in to both as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following : Other duties may be assigned.
- Safe loading and unloading of waste tanks to scheduled disposal sites.
- Safely operate a tractor trailer.
- Loading chicks into trucks at the hatchery and unloading trucks at the growers.
- Tracking all mileage logs and vehicle condition reports.
- Loading and unloading empty & full egg racks at the farms and the hatchery.
- Fuel truck.
- Keep trucks and trailers clean.
- Report any mechanical problems, or necessary maintenance to the employee responsible for these things.
- Accurately maintain delivery paperwork
- All run home daily.
- Pick-up and delivery schedules are posted 3 weeks in advance.
- Agricultural HOS
- Able to work as a member of team and be helpful to others as needed.
- Must be physically capable of independently handling bulky trolley equipment.
