Are you a detail-oriented Cost Accountant with a passion for manufacturing cost accounting and ERP systems? Do you have hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations and a strong grasp of GAAP principles? If so, we want you on our team!
About the Role:
As a Cost Accountant, you will be responsible for implementing and managing the inventory costing system in our new Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations ERP system. You’ll work closely with production teams to ensure accurate costing, analyze financial data, and drive cost efficiencies. This is a high-impact role that requires strong analytical skills, manufacturing cost expertise, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
What You’ll Do:
- Leading the inventory costing implementation for our ERP system.
- Develop and maintain standard costs for finished goods and production components.
- Perform month-end close activities related to cost accounting and inventory valuation.
- Analyze production costs, variances, and financial data to support decision-making.
- Collaborate with production teams to ensure proper routes and resource identification.
- Review and validate raw materials, BOMs, and cost rolls.
- Manage the excess and obsolete inventory review process.
- Support financial audits and ensure compliance with GAAP.
- Improve processes and controls related to manufacturing costs and inventory valuation.
Qualifications We are Looking For:
- 5 years of cost accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing.
- Strong ERP experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (Required).
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (CPA preferred).
- Expertise in manufacturing cost accounting, batch processing, and inventory valuation.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with costing/production software.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
