As a key player in our Savory & Culinary team, you will be responsible for developing cutting-edge flavors, enhancing product quality, and driving innovation in the world of meat-based and alternative protein solutions. You’ll work closely with flavorists, culinary experts, sales teams, and regulatory specialists to create exceptional savory experiences that captivate consumers and set new industry standards.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and optimize meat-based and alternative protein flavors using innovative ingredients and processing techniques.
- Experiment with natural & synthetic materials to craft unique, high-impact flavors.
- Ensure compliance with USDA, FDA, and global regulatory standards.
- Lead multiple projects from concept to commercialization, ensuring high-quality, on-time delivery.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (sales, marketing, regulatory, R&D) to align flavor development with customer needs.
- Continuously refine processes, formulations, and workflows for optimal efficiency.
- Partner with sales teams to develop customized flavor solutions for clients.
- Represent the company at trade shows, industry events, and customer meetings.
- Present innovative savory concepts and prototypes to key stakeholders
- Conduct sensory & analytical testing to evaluate flavor performance under different conditions (e.g., heat, freezing, pH).
- Ensure all flavors meet safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Maintain HACCP certification and actively contribute to food safety protocols.
- Identify and implement new technologies (e.g., encapsulation, and microemulsion systems) to enhance flavor delivery.
- Source new raw materials and explore novel approaches to flavor formulation.
- Stay ahead of global market trends and consumer preferences.
Qualification and Skills
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Meat Science, Food Science, or a related field.
- 5 years in savory/meat flavor development or food product formulation.
- Expertise in meat processing, food safety, and USDA/FDA regulations.
- Passion for savory innovation, culinary trends, and new technologies.
- Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining quality and efficiency.
- Strong ability to engage customers, present technical solutions, and collaborate cross-functionally.
- Willingness to travel up to 35% for customer visits, trade shows, and industry events.
