As Maintenance Manager, you’ll lead all maintenance activities, facility upkeep, and capital projects to ensure optimal equipment performance, compliance, and uptime. You will drive reliability, safety, and continuous improvement across all facility systems and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet production goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate daily maintenance operations, ensuring rapid and efficient equipment troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance.
- Manage facility repair programs and maintain critical utilities, infrastructure, and building systems.
- Supervise, coach, and evaluate maintenance team members; oversee hiring, training, and development.
- Build and implement a robust preventive maintenance program and integrate it into a computer-based CMMS.
- Manage capital projects from concept to execution — on time and within budget.
- Ensure compliance with GMP, SQF, OSHA, and Bell policies, and champion a culture of safety and regulatory adherence.
- Collaborate with operations to drive process improvements and equipment upgrades.
- Negotiate and manage vendor/service contracts and oversee outside contractor activity.
- Maintain accurate records of tools, equipment, and spare parts inventory.
- Serve as department leader on continuous improvement and efficiency initiatives.
Education & Experience
- BS in Mechanical Engineering or a technical discipline required.
- 7 years of experience in industrial maintenance in a GMP-regulated production environment.
- 3 years of leadership experience managing maintenance teams.
- Proven success leading capital projects and facility improvements.
- Expertise in mechanical, electrical, HVAC, boilers, PLCs, pumps, mixers, and spray drying systems.
- Strong knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
- Familiarity with CMMS systems, Microsoft Office, and technical documentation.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to lead diverse teams and collaborate cross-functionally.
- Ability to coach and develop maintenance staff while enforcing safety, quality, and performance standards.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs., stand or walk for long periods, and work in indoor/outdoor environments.
- Comfortable working in tight spaces and around mechanical equipment and chemicals.
