What You’ll Do:
Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on mobile equipment, treating plant machinery, yard tools, and facility systems.
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
Conduct equipment inspections and report any potential issues to management.
Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts inventory.
Ensure compliance with OSHA safety policies and company safety procedures.
Respond promptly to emergency maintenance needs and assist in larger repair projects.
What You Need:
High school diploma or equivalent (technical training or certification preferred).
1 years of maintenance experience, including welding, mechanical repairs, or electrical work.
Experience with mobile equipment, automotive, agricultural, electrical, HVAC, or plumbing is a plus.
Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and diagnostic skills.
Ability to operate hand and power tools, read blueprints, and follow safety regulations.
Must be able to work independently and in a team environment.
A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation may be required.

3rd Shift Maintenance Technician
Job Purpose
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining and ensuring the functionality of all equipment and machinery in the plant, yard, and office facility while complying with OSHA safety policies and local codes. This includes preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and both regular and emergency repairs on mobile equipment, treating plant equipment, yard machinery, and power tools.
Essential Job Duties
Perform maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical work, HVAC systems, and carpentry.
Troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
Conduct equipment inspections, document findings, and coordinate corrective actions.
Adhere to safety regulations, promptly resolving any safety hazards.
Maintain records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts inventory.
Support major maintenance projects, installations, and renovations.
Implement preventive maintenance programs to optimize equipment performance.
Respond to on-call emergency maintenance needs as required.
Job Qualifications
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent (technical training or certification preferred).
Experience:
At least one year of maintenance experience in a related field.
Experience with mobile equipment, automotive, agricultural, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, welding, and carpentry is preferred.
Degree or certification in welding, pipefitting, millwright, or electrical work is a plus.
Skills and Competencies
Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and diagnostic skills.
Proficiency in operating PCs, office equipment, hand tools, and power tools.
Ability to safely ascend/descend ladders, walk, and stand for extended periods.
Must be fluent in English with excellent communication skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Knowledge of MSDS sheets for required chemical compounds.
Ability to properly use and maintain PPE and safety equipment.
Above-average welding skills as determined by Bell Lumber & Pole Management.
A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation may be required.
Hazardous Waste Management Duties
If assigned to hazardous waste-related tasks, employees must complete Bell Lumber & Pole’s Hazardous Waste Management Training and sign the team addendum outlining specific duties and policies. Employees without this training are not authorized to perform hazardous waste management duties.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
Frequently required to stand, walk, reach, sit, talk, hear, and use hands.
Regularly lift/move 25 lbs, occasionally up to 50 lbs.
Work in an industrial environment with exposure to heat, cold, precipitation, fumes, noise, and chemicals.
Overtime may be required, including overnight stays.
