Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Home Health Aide to provide essential support and care to individuals in their homes. The ideal candidate will have experience working with people with disabilities, seniors, and those requiring assistance with daily living activities. This role involves ensuring the comfort and well-being of clients while maintaining their dignity and independence.
Duties
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and meal preparation.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for clients.
- Administer medication as prescribed and assist with medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist clients with mobility and transfers, ensuring safety at all times.
- Support individuals with dementia care by employing appropriate techniques to manage behaviors and provide comfort.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, including light housekeeping tasks.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement personalized care plans.
- Provide catheter care when necessary, ensuring proper hygiene and comfort for clients.
- Document client progress and report any changes in health or behavior to the supervising nurse or healthcare provider.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in home health, assisted living, or senior care is preferred.
- Knowledge of medical documentation practices and adherence to HIPAA regulations is essential.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs is a plus.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Ability to demonstrate compassion, patience, and understanding in all interactions.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Certification as a Home Health Aide or similar qualification is desirable but not mandatory.
