Position Overview

  Now Hiring: Senior Cosmetologist Job Type: Tuesday-Sunday availability depending on FT/PT (open 9am-6pm). Compensation: 45-50% Commission or $50,000 - $175,000 per year. Location: Wellesley, MA    Who We Are:  We are the most awarded day spa in the Greater Boston area, with dozens of “Best of Boston” awards including 2024, three locations, over 40 treatment rooms, a professional staff of over 200, and a wide variety of soothing relaxation treatments and result-oriented med spa services, all designed to provide clients with an exceptional spa experience centered completely around them.   Job Summary:  The Senior Cosmetologist will contribute to the overall salon success, and have extensive experience in cutting, coloring and styling. They will also have a say in the creative direction that the salon takes overall.     What You’ll Do:   - Act as liaison between the Spa Director and the salon team. - Identify new trends, source education classes. - Approve supply/retail orders weekly. - Work with Director & Inventory Specialist to ensure COGS remains within budget/goal; monitor product waste. - Assist in all areas of salon operation as requested by management. - Advise Guests on their haircare needs. - Apply chemical setting, straightening or curling solutions. - Use curlers, rollers, hot irons and curling irons. - Apply hair color, dye and tints. - Cut hair using scissors, clippers, and necessary tools. - Administer therapeutic scalp and hair treatments. - Perform shampooing, conditioning and blow-drying services. - Sweeping, cleaning and maintaining the salon to ensure a top-notch appearance. - Provide consistent professional hair treatments in accordance with spa protocols and accepted certification practices. - Uphold the standards of sanitation and sterilization as directed by law and the spa’s policies and procedures. - Actively promote the spa, treatments, services and retail as well as programs, promotions and/or discounts available. - Maintain a positive attitude and uphold company core values and Bella Santé commitment. - Regularly attend, participate in and support training and staff meetings for the spa.    What You’ll Need:  - To hold and maintain a current Massachusetts State Cosmetologist License. - If an offer is made, employment may be contingent upon the successful completion of a CORI check. - Possess the ability to work without direct supervision and contribute to a culture of peer accountability and leadership. - Demonstrate leadership skills through training, mentoring and accountability. - Ability to work well independently and as part of a team. - Enjoy working with people and possess a friendly and outgoing personality. - Be flexible with your schedule, supporting the needs of the spa. - Excellent communication and listening skills, as well as basic computer knowledge. - Capacity and commitment to learn the product and service knowledge necessary to effectively provide solutions to meet the needs of our guests.    What’s In It for You: - Health, Dental, 401K, vacation, sick leave, paid training & education. - Complimentary spa service after 30 days. - One complimentary spa service per month after 6 months of employment. - 30% discount on retail purchases. - 50% off on services other than monthly complimentary spa service.   Please visit our website to know more about us: Bella Santé Spas | Best of Boston Luxury Day & Med Spa (bellasante.com)
