The Golf Cart Technician will oversee daily maintenance for the fleet of golf carts while performing ongoing maintenance activities on golf course equipment and other heavy equipment if needed. May require independent judgment in the disposition of routine matters without direct supervision. Will work under the direct supervision of the Director of Golf Operations.
REQUIREMENTS, ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Provides support for the department. In addition to other duties as assigned, will establish a culture of safety for employees and ensure that work processes are free from safety and health hazards. Ensure that employees are properly trained and that programs are in place to ensure safety. Lead mechanics and perform skilled mechanical maintenance and repair of equipment. Maintain equipment inventory. Maintain parts and supplies inventory. Must be capable of operating various equipment including but not limited to tractors, backhoes, and loaders. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with the demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple work orders, complete tasks and demands and to seek supervisory assistance when needed.
Services and repairs lithium golf carts, gasoline and diesel engines, air compressors, auxiliary engines, heavy-duty pumps, and gate and hydraulic valves.
Maintain a 385-golf cart fleet.
Tests, adjusts, and tunes engines, fuel injection systems, fuel or oil supply pumps and governors.
Performs preventative and/or service maintenance on a wide variety of equipment which includes oil changes, filters, tires, lubrication, batteries, hydraulic systems, power take-offs, etc.
Maintains records of work performed.
Operates welders, blade sharpeners, and other specialty equipment.
Performs minor body refinishing including part replacement, sanding, and painting.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
Must have an Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Must have excellent mechanical skills (noted in examples of work above). Individuals must have standard welding skills. Work requires continual attention to details. Must exhibit excellence in Customer Service with all customers. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Physical Demands and Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is not regularly required to sit. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is required to stand, walk; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Greater than 50 pounds may require a team lift. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. Specific required movements include the following: trunk-bend, twist, rotate, push, pull, and carry, arm’s reach, and leg-lifts.
