Job Overview:
The Art Teacher at Bellarmine Preparatory School is responsible for providing high-quality instruction in art to students, fostering a positive and engaging learning environment, and contributing to the overall academic and moral development of students. The Art Teacher will possess a deep understanding of various art forms, a commitment to fostering creativity, and the ability to integrate artistic expression with broader educational goals. The teacher should embody the values and principles of Jesuit education, emphasizing the Ignatian philosophy of cura personalis (care for the whole person) and the Jesuit commitment to academic excellence, service, and justice.
Core Functions and Duties:
- Curriculum Development:
- Design and implement a comprehensive art curriculum that aligns with educational standards and the Jesuit values.
- Integrate art history, theory, and practical skills to provide a well-rounded art education
- Instruction and Classroom Management:

- Utilize a variety of teaching methods and resources to accommodate diverse learning styles.
- Assessment and Feedback:
- Evaluate student performance through assessments, projects, and examinations.
- Use formative assessment to inform instruction and help students self-assess their progress and summative assessments.

- Provide timely and constructive feedback to students, helping them understand their strengths and areas for improvement.
- Student Support:
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect and understanding.
- Provide additional support and guidance to students who may need assistance with art studies.

Compensation:
- Salary is determined using the Faculty Pay Scale, based on education level and years of experience (scale ranges from BA, Tier 1: $58,097 to MA 90 or Ph.D., Tier 25 : $111,257 - for full-time position).
