Job Overview:
A counselor at Bellarmine Preparatory School will provide comprehensive counseling services to students, with a focus on mental health but with an emphasis on college/career readiness. The counselor will work collaboratively with students, parents, teachers, and administrators to support the holistic development and well-being of our students.
Core Functions and Duties:
● Assist students in developing college and career plans, including researching and applying to colleges, exploring career options, and understanding financial aid and scholarship options.
● Develop a roadmap for skill coaching, building toward readiness for college and career.
● Support parent/guardian information nights and communicate regularly with parents/guardians to provide updates on students' progress and offer guidance on supporting their child's academic and personal development.
● Ensure consistent communication and resources are provided to students, parents/guardians, and employees to enhance communication and keep everyone informed.
● Maintain accurate and confidential student records.
● Stay current with best practices in counseling and participate in professional development activities.
● Coordinate Mental Health resources.
● Coordinate with the Dean of Student Health and Wellness with Forefront (suicide prevention) and Drug Education.
● Coordinate with the Director of Campus Ministry with Grief support.
● Supports co-curricular program wellness efforts.
● Coordinates with the Academic Center of Excellence with neurodivergent support.
● Collaborate with faculty and administrators to create a positive and supportive school climate.
● Provide crisis intervention and support as needed.
Qualifications
Competencies/Qualifications:
● Master's degree in counseling or a related field preferred.
● Experience with the college admission process and career readiness programs is preferred.
● Experience working as a school counselor.
● Current state licensure or certification as a school counselor.
● Knowledge of counseling theories, techniques, and practices.
● Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
● Ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, teachers, and administrators.

Compensation:
- Salary is determined using the Faculty Pay Scale, based on education level and years of experience (scale ranges from BA, Tier 1: $58,097 to MA 90 or Ph.D., Tier 25 : $111,257 - for full-time position).
