Job Summary
The Facilities Senior Maintenance Technician is a full-time, hourly position responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing buildings, including Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems, across 9 buildings totaling over 250,000 square feet on 44 acres of land. This position reports to the Facilities Manager and collaborates with campus contractors, vendors, and business partners in a positive, innovative, and solution-oriented manner, while adhering to the Facilities budget.
- Building Maintenance: Perform minor building, athletic, and grounds maintenance tasks.
- Preventive Maintenance: Assist in establishing preventive maintenance schedules, addressing deferred maintenance, and handling unscheduled repairs.
- Kitchen Equipment Maintenance: Monitors kitchen equipment function and provides support to repair/replace as required.
- Key Program Oversight: Manage the campus key program.
- Inventory Management: Maintain inventory of campus resources, including MEP systems, equipment, and tools.
- Safety and Maintenance: Ensure buildings are safe and well-maintained; and assist with inclement weather recovery.
- Emergency Response: Respond to building emergencies with a sense of urgency.
- Event Support: Assist with the set up and teardown of regularly scheduled and unscheduled events.
Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with other Campus Departments and Facilities Team.
- Provide input for equipment condition and replacement.
- Provide input for all Facilities projects from minor to major capital projects.
- Complete Work Orders (WO) based on prioritization and react to urgent Facilities needs as required.
- Submit WO to resolve identified opportunities for improvement.
- Use power building maintenance tools and landscape equipment, as necessary.
- Clean and maintain equipment and ensure accurate inventory.
- Inspect, clean, and prepare Facilities equipment for daily operation.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager.
- Landscape as required.
- Perform minor maintenance on all buildings and fields equipment to include landscaping irrigation systems.
- Set up for events and tear down after events.

Qualifications
Necessary Qualifications
- Knowledge of facilities management.
- Must have or obtain boiler certification within 1 year of hire.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry at least 50 lbs.
- Must be a team player.
- Present a professional image with your appearance, speech, and behavior.
- Generally work on campus Monday through Friday and must be willing to work flexible hours and possibly weekends.
- Ability to operate a broad spectrum of building, landscaping, and athletic field equipment.
- Familiar with all standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the facilities maintenance discipline.
- Excellent communication and people skills.
- Ability to prioritize and multitask.
- Use computer applications such as spreadsheets, word processing, email, calendar, and database software in the performance of the job.
- Current Driver’s License.
- Follow all safety standards.
