Job Overview:
On-call Substitutes for Bellarmine Preparatory School: Friendly and competent professionals who are passionate about working with adolescents in various classroom settings and disciplines. The on-call substitute will play a crucial role in maintaining the continuity of instructional and classroom management processes when teachers are absent for a day or longer periods of time.
Responsibilities:
Instructional Support:
Deliver lesson plans provided by absent teachers, ensuring a smooth continuation of the curriculum.
Provide clear explanations and instructions to students, addressing any questions or concerns that may arise.
Follow classroom procedures and achieve lesson goals.
Classroom Management:
Maintain a positive and conducive learning environment in the absence of the regular teacher.
Enforce classroom rules and policies to ensure a productive and respectful atmosphere.
Adaptability:
Be adaptable and comfortable working across various subjects and grade levels.
Quickly familiarize oneself with the curriculum and materials for each assignment.
Communication:
Collaborate with school staff to address any specific needs or challenges within the classroom.
Provide feedback to regular teachers regarding the day's activities and any noteworthy incidents.
Professionalism:
Demonstrate a high level of professionalism and ethical conduct.

Qualifications
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Teacher or substitute certification preferred (Washington State)
- Detailed-oriented and able to follow written and verbal instructions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Pass a background check
- Complete Safe Environment training
- Familiarity with Jesuit education preferred
