Job Title: Home Nightly - CDL Class A Flatbed driver
Department: Fleet
Reports to: Dispatch
Purpose:
Daily delivery of flatbed loads from Barre, VT, and Concord, NH, to Southern NH, MA, CT, or RI.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safe Operation: Operate trucks and trailers safely and follow all traffic laws and regulations.
- Route Planning: Plan and execute efficient routes to ensure the timely delivery of goods. Use GPS navigation systems and maps to determine the best routes, considering traffic, weather, and road conditions.
- Cargo Securement: Chains, straps, binders, and other securement devices should be utilized to fasten the cargo securely to the trailer and prevent shifting during transport and possibly tarping.
- Maintenance and Inspection: To ensure roadworthiness, the flatbed truck and trailer must be inspected pre-trip and post-trip. Routine maintenance tasks must also be performed, and any mechanical issues or malfunctions must be promptly reported.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records and documentation, including driver logs, delivery receipts, and other paperwork required by regulatory agencies and company policies.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with customers, shippers, and receivers during pick-up and delivery operations. Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Communication: Maintain open communication with dispatchers, fleet managers, and other team members to provide updates on delivery status, delays, and other relevant information. Report any incidents, accidents, or emergencies promptly and accurately.
- Compliance: Comply with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations governing the transportation industry, including hours of service regulations, weight limits, and hazardous materials handling.

Experience & Qualifications:
- Valid CDL Class A and Med Card.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience.
- Worked for two or fewer companies in the past year.
- There have been less than two moving violations in the last two years.
Monday - Friday - hours vary depending on workload; the typical work week is 45 - 50 hours.
