This position is a great opportunity for an entry-level scientist to gain valuable experience and holds the potential for significant growth.  


Position Objective: 

Primary responsibilities will be production, quality control, and documentation for biochemical assay components. This is primarily a laboratory position and requires strong skills in biochemical experimental and analytical methods. The Associate Scientist I, Manufacturing role, either independently or as a team, will be responsible for reagent production, quality control, dispensing, product stability testing, troubleshooting, documentation, and lab supply ordering. The position will also involve work on Research & Development projects as time permits. 


Responsibilities:

  • Manufacturing – Produce and dispense biochemical assay components, including chemical and biological reagents, in accordance with manufacturing protocols.
  • Quality Control – Perform quality control and stability testing on biochemical assay reagents and identify when supplementary testing is needed.
  • Documentation – Keep complete and accurate documentation of all work through paper and electronic batch records and/or lab notebook entries in a timely manner.
  • Laboratory Support - Perform glassware washing and sterilization and prepare commonly used buffers, reagents, and stock solutions.
  • Laboratory Organization - Maintain organization of lab, including coordinating and managing laboratory supply inventory and maintaining organized freezer storage.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Associate’s Degree in a scientific discipline with 2 years of lab experience preferred.
  • BS in Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology or Biotechnology.
  • Strong laboratory skills and proven experience with reagent preparation and testing and biochemical methods.
  • Knowledge and experience with biochemical and/or biological reagent manufacturing and QC processes in an industrial setting would be helpful but are not required.
  • Excellent organizational skills and outstanding communication skills (both oral and written).
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks simultaneously and shift attention when necessary.
  • Must work well independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be capable of organizing work, multi-tasking and performing multiple functions that may change over time.
