Job Description:
A Fragrance Development Manager possesses an extreme passion for scent with a skilled nose and cutting-edge insight in trend across the market segments of Beauty, Personal Care, Home Fragrance, and Household consumer product goods. The Senior Fragrance Evaluator will function as the lead Project Manager, focusing on Key Strategic Partnerships, to form and direct the creative fragrance development process from trend inception to project brief completion. The Senior Fragrance Evaluator will work directly with Perfumery and Marketing to ensure that custom project briefs are completed on time and that all fragrance submissions meet the customer new product development process needs exceeding their expectations!
The Fragrance Development Manager will lead and manage all aspects of the fragrance development process, ensuring winning fragrance profiles, understanding and ensuring customer parameters, confirming regulatory compliance, and all custom aspects of the brief requirements.
The Fragrance Development Manager will coordinate, and often travel, with the Account Executive and Marketing team members to support a best-in-class sensory experience for Belle Aire Creations’ Key Partnerships. The Fragrance Development Manager must exhibit excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to lead a high-level fragrance presentation.
Job Responsibilities:
- Work in a leadership and team environment to develop custom fragrances, trend collections, and capsule collections
- Translate Consumer Market Insight research into olfactory guidelines for Perfumers
- Work independently guiding the creative process for fragrance development for key customer
- Work independently to develop fragrances according to the given brief guidelines
- Travel for onsite presentation of innovative new technologies and custom fragrance presentations
- Attend regularly scheduled olfactive analysis meetings to review new products with Evaluation team
- Evaluate fragrances and provide constructive feedback to Perfumery team
- Coordinate with Applications team on specific project needs (stability, weight loss testing, etc.)
- Understand assigned account demographics, preferred trending aromatic profiles, regulatory and sample needs
- Communicate with Sales on mutually assigned accounts to realize account growth potential
- Participate in sensory panel analysis of various consumer product goods
- Ensure efficient execution of projects with a focus on fragrance wins, customer engagement and speed of response

- Bachelor’s Degree related field
- 5 years’ experience in fragrance development experience preferred
- Experience (years and topics):
- Capable and comfortable quickly changing direction and readjusting focus and drive, as business needs change.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple responsibilities and tasks regularly
- Exceptional people/team and strong collaboration skills
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Understanding of scheduling, lead times and time management
- Ability to work extremely well under pressure and changing dynamics
- Deadline oriented – exhibits a sense of urgency
- Familiarity of database structure
- Self-starter, highly self-motivated, structured and disciplined
- Technology/Software:
- Must be PC literate and literate in Excel, Word and Power Point, and Outlook. Preferred advanced Excel and literate in Access.
- Communication:
- Vocalize and explain detailed data and problem-solve, both in-person and by telephone. Must have good communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Compose routine correspondence on own initiative
- Make comprehensive notes in English
- May involve a large volume of such composition
