Position: High School Business/Career Electives Teachers

Location: 8346 Hwy 23, Belle Chasse, LA

Job Type: Full-time, Nine (9) months (182 days) per year according to PPSB

School Year: 2025-2026

Salary Range: $60,000 - $87,000 for Certified Teachers and $54,560 - $69,410 for Uncertified Teachers (Teachers with Temporary Authorities to Teacher – TAT)

Ad Valorem - 2.40 parish property (ad valorem) tax mills are dedicated to employee salaries.  The annual receipts from this tax are distributed to employees twice a year, one-half in January and one-half in June. The amount of each employee’s supplement is the employee’s salary multiplied by the annual percentage (computed each year based on actual tax revenues).

Position Overview:

Belle Chasse High School is seeking dynamic and passionate educators to fill two openings for Business and Career Electives Teachers for the 2025-2026 school year. As a part of our dedicated teaching team, you will inspire and engage students in a variety of business-related subjects while helping them develop essential career readiness skills. You will create a supportive and motivating classroom environment that encourages creativity, critical thinking, and career exploration.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop and teacher business, career-focused curriculum for high school students.
2. Provide engaging lessons in subjects such as Career Readiness, Quest for Success, Cyber Society, Into to Business Computer Applications (IBCA), and other career readiness topics.
3. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and critical thinking.
4. Prepare students for real-world business scenarios and help them build skills applicable to both higher education and the workforce.
5. Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and resources to meet the diverse learning needs of all students.
6. Assess student progress through formative and summative assessments and provide timely feedback.
7. Collaborate with colleagues to plan and implement cross-curricular projects and initiatives.
8. Maintain effective communication with students, parents, and school administration.
9. Participate in school events, professional development opportunities, and extracurricular activities as needed.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
2. Valid LA teaching certificate or the ability to obtain one with appropriate endorsements
3. Experience in teaching high school students (preferred, but not required).
4. Ability to differentiate instruction for students with varying abilities.
5. Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
6. Excellent attendance record.
7. Passion for helping students explore career pathways and succeed in the business world.
