Position: High School Math Teacher
Location: 8346 Hwy 23, Belle Chasse, LA
Job Type: Full-time, Nine (9) months (182 days) per year according to PPSB
School Year: 2025-2026
Salary Range: $60,000 - $87,000 for Certified Teachers and $54,560 - $69,410 for Uncertified Teachers (Teachers with Temporary Authorities to Teacher – TAT)
Ad Valorem - 2.40 parish property (ad valorem) tax mills are dedicated to employee salaries. The annual receipts from this tax are distributed to employees twice a year, one-half in January and one-half in June. The amount of each employee’s supplement is the employee’s salary multiplied by the annual percentage (computed each year based on actual tax revenues).

Position Overview:
We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic High School Math Teacher to teach a variety of mathematics courses, including Algebra I, Geometry, and/or Algebra II, to students in grades 9-12. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mathematics, an ability to make complex concepts accessible, a passion for teaching, the ability to engage students in hands-on learning experiences, and a commitment to helping students build confidence and proficiency in math.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver engaging and rigorous lessons that align with state standards and school curriculum.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and critical thinking.
- Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and resources to meet the diverse learning needs of all students.
- Assess student progress through formative and summative assessments and provide timely feedback.
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan and implement cross-curricular projects and initiatives.
- Maintain effective communication with students, parents, and school administration.
- Participate in school events, professional development opportunities, and extracurricular activities as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Valid LA teaching certificate or the ability to obtain one with appropriate endorsements.
- Strong knowledge of high school mathematics curriculum and instructional best practices.
- Experience in teaching high school students (preferred, but not required).
- Ability to differentiate instruction for students with varying abilities.
- Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent attendance record.
- Passion for teaching and inspiring students to develop a love for math.
