Optician

Job Summary
We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Optician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting patients with their eyewear needs, providing exceptional service, and ensuring a smooth experience from selection to fitting. This role requires a strong understanding of optical products, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.

Duties

• Assist customers in selecting appropriate eyewear based on their prescriptions and personal preferences.
• Provide detailed information about lens options, coatings, and frames to help customers make informed decisions.
• Perform fittings and adjustments of eyewear to ensure comfort and proper alignment.
• Maintain knowledge of current optical trends, products, and technologies.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations while handling patient information.
• Conduct basic laboratory tasks such as frame assembly and adjustments as needed.
• Educate patients on proper eyewear care and maintenance.
• Manage inventory levels of optical products and assist in ordering supplies as necessary.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in retail sales or customer service is preferred.
• Knowledge of anatomy related to the eye and vision is beneficial.
• Understanding of medical coding related to optical services is an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to perform precise measurements for eyewear fitting.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.

Pay: $14.00 - $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 – 40 per week
