BELLE PLAINE COUNTRY CLUB JOB TITLE: Greenskeeper SUPERVISOR: Country Club Board LOCATION: 1911 13th Ave, Belle Plaine, IA 52208Duties & Responsibilities Overview: The Greenskeeper is a position that performs manual labor involved in day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of the Belle Plaine Country Club Golf Course.Job Functions: Maintains golf course by mowing, trimming, edging, top dressing, treating turf and maintaining ball washers; mows fairways, putting greens, tees , and rough; maintains and performs repairs to irrigation system; changes cups and tee markers; trims trees; maintains and cleans restrooms; loads and unloads materials; maintains fuel and fluid levels for all types of equipment on a daily basis, which includes rental carts; reports equipment problems or failures to the Board.Other job functions: Performs other duties as required and assists the special course committee with projects.Working Conditions: Must be available to work Monday through Friday and weekends when necessary. Must be able to work in all kinds of weather; exposed to wind, noise, dirt, mud, fuel, water, heat, cold and various insects; may require prolonged sitting, standing, walking, stooping, bending and lifting heavy objects.Minimum Qualifications Knowledge: Must have mechanical aptitude; must be able to follow verbal and written instructions, must be able to communicate effectively with others; must have knowledge of golf course maintenance equipment.Skills/Abilities: Must be able to operate golf course equipment, including a mower, top dresser, aerifier, blower, golf cart, weed eater, chain saw, edger, trimmer, shovel, rake, water hose, hand tools and other equipment.Physical Requirements: Constantly sees and hears; frequently drives golf carts, kneels, stands, walks, climbs, bends, cleans; carries, holds, drags, lifts, pushes and pulls objects.Other Requirements: You will be required to complete a chemicals course within 1 year of hire.Education/Experience: A High School diploma or equivalent required. Experience is a plus, but we will train.Other: Must have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record. Applicant may be subject to a background check and drug/alcohol test. The Belle Plaine Country Club Board may consider all related education and/or experience in determining the applicant’s minimum qualifications and starting salary.
