YMCA of Centre County’s Bellefonte Branch is currently accepting applications for full-time Child Care Teachers who will be responsible for providing an environment rich in activities and experiences to promote the development of each child enrolled in our program.
Primary Responsibilities
- Maintain knowledge and understanding of PA Department of Public Welfare (DPW) regulations.
- Supervise all children and be physically present with the group of children in your care.
- When engaging children in activities, consider the needs of individual children with concern for their interests, special talents, individual style, and pace of learning.
- Assist with the development and implementation of developmentally appropriate curriculum.
- Interact and participate in games, activities, and special programs with children in a positive and enthusiastic manner. -Assist in daily communication with parents.
- Utilize positive disciplinary methods including, but not limited to, redirection, positive reinforcement, proactive guidance, and if needed, appropriate time outs.
- Assist with the completion of any necessary administrative paperwork (i.e. meal counts, attendance, incident reports, supply requests, etc.)
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience working with children totaling a minimum of 2500 hours.
Salary/Benefits:
- $13.00 to $14.50 per hour depending on experience with opportunities for increases.
