- Delivers courteous, prompt, and professional service, ensuring a personalized and outstanding experience for all Members and guests.
- Manages inquiries, schedules lessons, processes transactions, and maintains accurate financial records with precision and accuracy.
- Provides expert guidance on tennis equipment selection while actively promoting and selling Pro Shop merchandise to enhance Member satisfaction.
- Ensure a clean, well-organized Pro Shop and support the upkeep of racquet courts to maintain high-quality playing conditions.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provides all Members and guests with an outstanding, personalized experience by delivering courteous, prompt, and professional service for all racquets related needs.
- Proactively assesses the needs of Members both on and off the court, offering assistance with equipment, refreshments, scheduling, or any other requests to enhance their overall racquets experience.
- Manages the Racquets Pro Shop inquiries with efficiency and warmth, including answering phone calls, booking lessons, and scheduling court times with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Offers expert guidance on tennis equipment selection, ensuring Members find the right gear for their game while actively promoting and selling Pro Shop merchandise.
- Operates the Point-of-Sale system with precision, processing Member charges, lesson fees, and merchandise sales while maintaining accurate daily financial records.
- Maintains an inviting and impeccably organized Pro Shop, ensuring a clean, well-stocked, and aesthetically pleasing environment.
- Performs end-of-day procedures, including thorough cleaning, secure lock-up, and inventory checks as needed, ensuring seamless daily operations.
- Supports the upkeep of the tennis and pickleball courts by assisting with necessary maintenance and grooming after play, ensuring optimal playing conditions for Members.
- Completes other duties as assigned by the Director of Racquets or other members of Bellerive’s leadership team.
Requirements
- Must be willing and able to develop a strong understanding of tennis, pickleball, and other racquet sports, including equipment, rules, and gameplay fundamentals.
- Must have the ability to balance multiple projects and have strong project and time management skills. Must possess high attention to detail.
- Must display an aptitude for working in a fast-paced environment with a demonstrated ability to work autonomously, take direction, and exercise good judgment. Must have the ability to reason and apply common-sense understanding to situations encountered.
- Must have a high level of professionalism and interpersonal skills in order to communicate and work well with employees at all levels within the organization and maintain all information in the strictest of confidence. Must use tact and diplomacy when dealing with others.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate fluent English; compose documents in the appropriate business style using correct grammar and spelling; communicate clearly using proper grammar and diction over the telephone.
- Ability to simultaneously process routine daily functions, resolve sensitive issues, and complete complex assignments utilizing above-average critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work overtime as necessary, as well as nights, weekends, and holidays when needed to ensure the appropriate demands of the department.
- The physical demands of this position are representative of those that might be met by an employee for them to successfully perform the essential functions of the position. These include being both mobile and stationary throughout the workday and having the ability to transport twenty-five (25) pounds.
Qualifications / Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent, or in the pursuit thereof required. Secondary education in Hospitality, Business, Sports Management, or a related field is a plus.
- Experience in a tennis or racquet sports environment is a plus, but not required.
- Previous customer service, retail, or hospitality experience is preferred.
- Previous experience working in a private club atmosphere is preferred.
