What are the responsibilities and job description for the Math Specialist position at Bellesini Academy?
Bellesini Academy is seeking a math teacher specialist to support teachers and students in grades 5-8 with math curriculum. The specialist will work both in the classroom with the teacher and outside the classroom with students in small groups.
Responsibilities include:
1. Recommend and evaluate curriculum including standardized testing.
2. Assess teaching strategies and help teachers improve instructional methodologies.
3. Support students in developing problem-solving skills and confidence as well as provide remedial instruction.
4. Assist teachers when needed with lesson planning, modeling lessons and math education techniques.
5. Analyze student data to inform instruction and make data driven decisions.
The hours for this position are 8:45 to 3:15 for two to three days per week.
Bellesini Academy is an independent Catholic middle school dedicated to providing a quality scholarship education to students from limited financial means living in Lawrence. The mission of the school is to provide an academically challenging and highly structured environment that develops the potential for each student to succeed in competitive secondary schools and colleges. Bellesini Academy is a co-institutional school serving 120 students. Students learn in single-sex classrooms and have opportunities throughout the day to work together.
