Description
Our Jaffrey headquarters is looking for a Mechanic - Diesel Specialist.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Responsible for repair of trucks, forklifts and other mechanical equipment.
- Maintains a working knowledge of, and moderate skill proficiency in, the following vehicle components and systems, with the ability to perform preventative and repair maintenance functions, both on-site and on the road.
- Chassis component repair and maintenance, hydraulic and electrical systems, air and hydraulic braking systems, engine repair and maintenance, suspension, drivetrain and steering systems, heating and air conditioning.
- Performs line maintenance welding and fabrication.
- Coordination and scheduling of annual vehicle inspections (we will certify you).
- Install and replace GPS units as needed.
- Learn to utilize Geotab for service and repair record keeping, etc.
- Safely provides road service when necessary to ensure that the Company's equipment is returned to operation in a safe and efficient manner.
- Identify the source of the malfunctions using a variety of electronic tools and knowledge.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned or apparent including keeping the shop and work area clean.
- Keep a daily log of work performed
- Able to lift 70 pounds
- Able to drive long distances (2 hours)
